Nov 19-20 A Sugarcreek Christmas $100 deposit pp with reservation
As Christmas is just around the corner, let's enjoy an overnight at the Carlisle Inn where we will see "The Christmas Tree Ship". In November, 1912, a man named "Cap't Santa" stood at the helm of The Christmas Tree Ship which transported Christmas trees from upper Michigan to the Chicago area underprivileged, when it went down in a violent storm on Lake Michigan. A year later his widow received the unexpected gift of his perfectly preserved wallet, which had washed up on the shore of Lake Michigan. The message with the wallet compelled Barbara, the captain’s wife, to do something no woman had previously done – captain the Christmas Tree Ship! Don’t miss this heartwarming inspirational tale, based on a true story. Dinner that evening will be at the Dutch Valley Restaurant. While in Sugarcreek we will take in the Christmas Tree Festival at Warther’s Museum (sponsored by Union Hospital Auxiliary), have dinner, wine tasting at Silver Moon Winery and do some shopping, visiting the Tis The Season Shop and a few others. Included in this trip is: 1 dinner; 1 continental breakfast; 1 overnight at The Carlisle Inn; “The Christmas Tree Ship”; Tree Festival; wine tasting; and luxury coach transportation including driver tip.
